1927, Venice Airport
Aviator Captain George W. Haldeman stands proudly in front of his craft at the first Venice Airport (Albee Field), located west of the town’s railroad tracks and south of Venice Avenue. The photograph was taken only a few months after Charles Lindbergh landed in Paris following his history-making first solo trans-Atlantic flight.
