This week end, it's arts and crafts fest down on Miami Avenue. It is another Howard Alan show focusing on handmade items and foods. Venice MainStreet is the host for the event and will be manning a booth. MainStreet posters and t-shirts are available for sale. Venice Art Center will have a booth to distribute information about upcoming classes and art exhibits. Quota International will have tent space between the two. We'll be there selling home made gifts crafted by local Quotarians. There are colorful spice ropes, vegetable bags for the microwave and hand woven baskets used for garlic, soap or dried flower arrangements. As usual Howard will be bringing a full array of talented artisans to sell their wares. I found home made peanut butter at one of the stalls last year, peanut butter to die for.If they're back this year, I'm doubling my order. The Kettle Corn Pop Corn is always a best seller. Not only is it delicious, but it makes the entire festival smell incredible. There are usually hand painted or tie dyed clothing and accesories on sale. I think Freedom Boat Club will be downtown as well. They are Platinum Sponsors of Venice MainStreet and like to participate in the downtown shows. Be sure to make a swing thru downtown this week-end and check out the show. Down town restaurants are open and waiting for you. Ride your bike down and be among the first to use the new bike racks scattered through the down town area. Enjoy the beautiful downtown of Venice, we are currently love bug and snow bird free. It's time to come out and play.
