Question: Venice High School is clearly under construction. How long until the new school is built, and where are the students going in the meantime? --Jackie K.
Answer: Venice High School has been around since 1951, so it was time for more than just a facelift--it needed the whole body, Six-Million-Dollar-Man kind of treatment. The school district and contractor, W.G. Mills, estimate the transformation will take about four years. Although it currently resembles London during the Blitzkrieg, the students are there, dutifully attending classes as the rebuild takes place in phases. Teachers and students continue to work in the old buildings and will gradually move into the new ones as they are completed.
