You could drive all the way to downtown Sarasota for the big fireworks display at Baypoint Park, but you don’t need to. The South County skies will be lighting up with celebrations much closer to home.
28th Annual Fourth of July Celebration at Siesta Key
The annual fireworks show over Siesta Key begins at 9 p.m. The festivities kick off around 6 p.m. north of the volleyball courts, but the best views are from the south (along Crescent Beach), on the Intracoastal and on the Gulf.
Fireworks at South Jetty in Venice
Fireworks in Venice will start at about 9 p.m. from the South Jetty (Humphris Park). You can view the show from the water, on area beaches from Caspersen to Nokomis, and from other places around Venice. For information on road, food and water closings prior to the show, click here.
Englewood Firecracker Festival
This all-day festival with plenty to eat, drink and buy will culminate in a fiery display on Middle Beach on Manasota Key, visible across Lemon Bay.
North Port Freedom Festival
Along with food, rock climbing and other fun activities, this event at North Port High School will feature a fireworks show that is set to music.
