The only warm-water mineral spring in Florida, North Port’s Warm Mineral Springs won fame in the 1950s when the remains of early Native Americans were found preserved in its mineral-rich waters. In the early 1960s, part of the springs was opened to the public, and people began soaking in its healing waters.  The swimwear may look different today, but the springs still attract people—seeking to soothe their aches and maladies.
