The snowbirds may have taken flight and fewer tourists are enjoying our beaches, but Venice MainStreet is keeping things lively for locals with its annual Wine Walk downtown on June 7.

Barbora Hodinarova of Cleopatra’s Bath and Body Boutique says the event is a chance to thank locals for supporting downtown shops and restaurants all year long. “We decided to honor our loyal and wonderful locals with a fun night full of wine,” she explains.

At 5 p.m., you can pick up your $10 wristband at the kiosk in Centennial Park, or in the breezeway at Burgundy Square, along with a list of participating downtown businesses.  Restaurants will offer specials such as buy an appetizer and get a free glass of wine, and shops will be offering wine samples. There will be four wines from Medesto, California, four from South Africa and a specialty sangria for good measure.  It’s a fun night of food, drink and conversation as you stroll the downtown streets and stop in at shops and restaurants.

Participating businesses include the following:  Café Longet, Café Venice, Ciao Gelato, Cleopatra’s Bath and Body Boutique, Daiquiri Deck, DanaTyler, Dick’s Shoes (both locations), DP Fitness and Wellness, Eyes on You, Florida Olive Oil Company, Made In Italy, Mother’s Cupboard, Open House Art Gallery, Premier Plus Realty, Shirt Stop, Ristorante San Marco, Sotheby’s International Realty, southeast salt, Spice and Tea Exchange, SunBug, TJ Carney’s, Venice Avenue Creamery, Venice in Vogue, and Venice Wine and Coffee.
