We breakfast aficionados have been watching for First Watch to open in Venice so we don’t have to drive to Sarasota or North Port for lemon ricotta pancakes and quinoa power bowls. The Bradenton-based franchise, with 165 restaurants nationwide, opens its seventh area restaurant in Jacaranda Plaza at Center Road at U.S. 41 Bypass on Monday, June 20–just a day too late for Father’s Day.
“We didn’t want to throw that at our staff on opening day,” says Eleni Kouvatsos, the company’s public relations manager.
First Watch serves breakfast, brunch and lunch with a menu that includes whole-grain waffles, salads, sandwiches and fresh juices, such as kale tonic –a concoction of Kale, Fuji apples, cucumber and lemon.
To get a taste of First Watch, go to the restaurant’s soft opening party, Saturday, June 18. It’s a fund-raising event for Forty Carrots, so all donations will go to the Sarasota-based family resource center.
First Watch is hiring servers and kitchen staff. Apply online at www.firstwatch.com/careers. The restaurant is located at 1617 U.S. 41 Bypass. Opens June 20, 7 a.m. -2:30 p.m.
